D 1: Tom Kubisiak of the U.S. Forest Service’s Sot&em Institute of Forest Genetics and Dr. Robert Bernatzky of the University of Massachusetts have been usin8 molecdargenetic markeu to pinpoint hotspots of American chestnutgenetic diversity. Utin. samples collected on a rot.&Ly 135-milegrid coverin. the entire range of the tree, the two researchers are analyzing cheztnut DNA to assess overall Levels of diversity and to map out the sources of thegreatestdenetic variation. Thispapergratr out of an analysis of a sample from a Maine chestnut conducted aspan of that study.

Molecular Characterization of Zhumeria majdea Iranian Germplasms Using ISSR Markers

Investigating genetic diversity in plant species provides a platform for further insight in plant breeding and conservation. Therefore, in the present study genetic diversity of 13 geographically isolated genotypes of Zhumeria majdea, as a seriously endangered medicine plant growing exclusively in Hormozgan province (South of Iran) was studied. To do so, the leaf samples of Z. majdea were colle...
